| 概要 | Non-peer-reviewed article. Based on my PhD study of delinquent boys in secondary education in Jamaica, this paper discusses the interrelatedness of the quest for dignity and deviant conduct. The paper argues that deviance is 'dignifying,' serving the purpose of accrediting and validating otherwise excluded youth. The paper further discusses threats to the Jamaica social order and national security as deliquency becomes normalized. |
