| 概要 | lder abuse is one of today’s social problems. We aimed to ascertain the situation of the current system and future countermeasures by searching the literature about backgrounds and factors leading to elder abuse and providing discussions and specific countermeasures as a result of this study. We searched online database of Asahi Shimbun “Kikuzo II Visual” using free text terms of “home-care murder” and “case.” Among 43 cases, analysis was performed for 18 cases that clearly reported the sex, age, and diseases of home-care users, the caregiver’s relationship to the elderly, and years of nursing care.
