概要 | This is the first paper to clarify the embryonic development of the larval eye of Panorpidae. Four days after spawning, the area of the eye on both sides of the head thickens, and individual eye differentiation begins in the tissue. In embryos 5 to 6 days after spawning, the formation of individual eye primordium progresses rapidly, and each element constituting the individual eye is clearly recognized. In the larvae immediately after hatching, about 30 individual eyes are completed and become functional compound eyes. This developmental process is clearly similar to the compound eye formation process of other insects and is quite different from the monocular formation process. In general, the larvae of completely metamorphic insects are side monocular, but it was known that Panorpidae have compound eyes as an exception, but this time, it was confirmed from the formation process that they are compound eyes. |
