概要 | In this paper I will first outline why we should teach grammar at all. I will then explain the current state of grammar teaching in Japanese Junior and Senior High Schools. Subsequently I will outline the case for Communicative Language Teaching and how grammar could be taught through this method. It will specifically examine whether teaching grammatical structures in a communicative style would be more conducive to students learning at a deeper level, so that they can use them outside the classroom. Finally I will explain how to design communicative grammar activities. In the attached activity I will show an example of teaching relative clauses communicatively. |
