概要 | The study explored whether there was a developmental change in children's judgment of culturally deviant acts and examined the type of cultural experiences and inputs influencing such judgments. Findings indicated that there was no developmental change since all the children judged Japanese more harshly and foreigners more leniently. However, the results of multiple factors suggested that factors differed depending on the grades: younger children were more suceptible to influences, such as their own experience abroad, if their mother spoke in a foreign language and/or discussed other cultures and thier people with them. These factors made thier judgement less leninent towards foreigners, suggesting the formation of less stereotypical images of foreigeners. |
