As people's income and standards of living improve, they begin to explore more overseas tourism. With the advances in information and communication technologies (ICTs), people rely more on Internet-based information sources for tourism, especially websites, smart phones, and SNS are widely used. Korea, the most advanced ICT country in the world, is well known for the use of Web 2.0 sources for tourism information such as blogs, reviews by other customers who visited various interest sites, and SNS to exchange experiences. Many free independent travelers are interested in unique packages of tours which includes experiences of cultures, food, and tradition. This paper discusses developing effective market communication strategies to attract more tourists, especially from Korea, to the Kansai region of Japan.
