概要 Developing the ability to think logically is one of the urgent issues in Japanese education, and Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has included the curriculum for developing such ability in the Japanese "Government Course Guideline" for English Education in 2014. In other words, English education in Japan is expected to develop not only the students' English ability but also the power for thinking logically. In such line, we have investigated the correlation between (1) Logical thinking, (2) English ability, especially focusing on causative constructions, (such as I made/ had/ let him go), and (3) teaching method, and have found some significant correlation among some valuables, which should cast light on which direction English education in Japan should be headed for.
