概要 | The aim of this study was to investigate the relation of cholinergic pathway to transient heart rate reduction induced by manual acupuncture using cholinergic blocker in humans. The subjects were 6 healthy male volunteers (average age 23). After the subjects had been at rest for about 20 minutes, acupuncture needling using the sparrow-pecking method, in which the needle is moved vertically lifting and thrusting, was performed to the acupoints at the arms (LI4), legs(ST36) and abdomen(ST25,CV12) and non-acupoints at abdomen. Transient heart rate reduction had been observed during acupuncture stimulation to every acupoints and non-acupoints. This response was abolished under administration of atropine sulfate. It had been concluded that the acupuncture stimulation had induced the transient heart rate reduction via cholinergic pathway in humans. |
