概要 | Ad hoc networks consist of mobile terminals with wireless communication mechanisms. Cell phones, PDAs, or laptops are popular terminals for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). In MANETs, since terminals move around the network, the network topologies and the number of neighbouring nodes change frequently. Moreover the distance between each neighbouring node is always changing. However, in no case does the transmission range of each node change. Therefore, it is possible that excess packet collisions among nodes occur and much the power of each node is consumed. In this paper, we propose a new transmission power controlled hierarchical routing scheme for reducing collisions. In our scheme, each node changes the transmission power according to the number of neighbouring nodes in the autonomous clustering. In order to confirm the effectiveness of our scheme, the performances of UDP and TCP have been evaluated through simulation experiments. |
