| 概要 | We investigated the relationship between pressure pain threshold (PPT) or conditioned pain modulation (CPM) and gender, basal metabolic rate, total physical activity time (TPA), total calorie consumptions, and sleep time in healthy volunteers. CPM response was evaluated as PPT during the painful cold stimulation relative to the baseline PPT. In addition, the participants were assigned into one of two groups (low or high activity group) depending on their TPA score and correlation analyses were conducted. TPA was significantly associated with CPM in only women. Especially, TPA and sleep time were significant predictors of CPM in the low activity group for women. CPM may decrease with low physical activity and short sleep time in women. |
