概要 Family Language Policy is composed of beliefs, management and practices. Belief is linked to cultural identification and linguistic choices. However, De Houwer (1999) suggests that “impact belief” is an important link between language beliefs and actual language management and practices.The nature of this belief becomes more apparent as we observe socialization activities, children’s responsiveness and parents’ discourse styles. Therefore, this research shows that family language beliefs, practices and management together significantly affect parents’ success in passing on their ethnic languages.
